The Foundation Office of the University of Montana Western is pleased to provide you with information regarding scholarship opportunities.  There are a number of scholarships for both new and returning students and the links below descirbes them in more detail.

Those students interested in applying for scholarships must submit a completed Montana Western Scholarship Application to Montana Western, Box 123, Dillon, MT  59725 by February 1.  Please print the appropriate application below, complete the information requested, and mail back to Montana Western.  Scholarship awards will be made by April 15 of each year.

Students who are residents of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming may qualify for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship. Students who are residents of a WUE state who have at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA or a 2.7 cumulative college GPA will automatically be considered for this scholarship if their admissions file is completed no later than July 1. Returning students who receive the WUE scholarship must maintain a 2.7 cumulative GPA (reviewed annually) to maintain their WUE scholarship status.

WUE Information

 

There are some unique opportunities available to Montana Residents. One of these is the Chancellor's Leadership Scholars’ Award. This scholarship is a highly competitive and renewable award. In order to qualify for this scholarship students must graduate from a Montana high school in the year they are applying for admission, have at least a 3.6 cumulative GPA, 26 ACT or 1760 SAT. Qualified students should complete and return the application along with a resume, two letters of recommendation, official 7th semester transcripts, and a 500 word essay describing their most memorable academic achievement. Up to five of these scholarships are awarded each year. The deadline for all Montana Western scholarships is February 1.
