Freshman Applicant Information



Applying for Admission

Freshman applicants must submit:

  • Application for admission by July 1st (priority deadline)
  • $30 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Official high school transcript (after graduation)
  • Student high school self report form (seperate form)
  • Immunization records (two doses of Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Official ACT or SAT score (ACT must include additional writing test score)

 

 

Requirements

Prospective freshman must satisfy one of the following conditions for admittance:

  • ACT test score of 22 with proof of additional writing test score or SAT test score of 1540 OR
  • 2.5 cumulative high school GPA OR
  • Rank in top half of graduating class 


     

    Prospective freshman must also meet the following college preparatory courses:

      • 4 years of English
      • 3 years of Math
      • 3 years of Social Studies
      • 2 years of Lab Science
      • 2 years of electives (Foreign Language, Computer Science, Visual & Performing Arts, Vocational Education - or any combination of the two)
         

Proficiencies

Freshmen wishing to enter into a bachelor's degree program without provision must also demonstrate math and writing proficiency.

 

Writing proficiency measures
  • 18 ACT Combined Writing/English score
  • 7 ACT Writing test subscore
  • 440 SAT writing section score
  • 3.5 Montana University System Writing Assessment
  • 3 or above on AP English language or English literature exam
  • 4 or above on the IB language A1 exam
 
Math proficiency measures
  • 22 ACT math section
  • 520 SAT math section
  • 3 or above on AP calculus exam
  • 4 or above on the IB calculus test
  • 4 years of high school mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry plus one course beyond Algebra II) with the grade of C or better in all course

PLEASE NOTE: Students whose mathematics score is below 18 on the ACT or 440 on the SAT may not be admitted to a four year degree program.
